A pre-inspection briefing was held on Thursday, June 12, 2025, and the following facility was inspected on Tuesday, August 12, 2025: FACILITY NAME BSCC # FACILITY TYPE Bishop Police Department 0990 THJ This inspection was conducted pursuant to Penal Code Section 6031 to determine compliance with the Minimum Standards for Local Detention Facilities as outlined in Titles 15 and 24, California Code of Regulations. In addition to inspection(s) by the Board of State and Community Corrections (BSCC), inspections are also required annually by the County Health Officer and biennially by the State Fire Marshal or an authorized representative (Health and Safety Code Sections 101045 and 13146.1). The results of those inspections are considered a part of this report. Reference the Bishop Police Department Temporary Holding Facility, the Environmental Health and Fire Life Safety inspections are up to date; however, the Medical and Mental Health inspection is overdue. INSPECTION RESULTS We identified the following item of noncompliance with Title 15 Minimum Standards: 0990 Bishop Police Department Temporary Holding Facility Title 15 Section 1028 Fire and Life Safety Staff: There is no available policy regarding Regulation Sections (b), (1), (2), (3), (4), (5), (6), and (7) for Fire and Life Safety Staff.
