& INSTITUTIONS CODE SECTION 209, LAKE COUNTY DETENTION FACILITY
Dear Sheriff Howe:
An Unannounced Inspection of the Lake County Sheriff's Department was completed for
the following facility on Thursday, July 25, 2024:

This inspection was conducted pursuant to Penal Code Section 6031 to determine
compliance with the Minimum Standards for Local Detention Facilities as outlined in Titles
15 and 24, California Code of Regulations.
INSPECTION RESULTS
The focus of the Unannounced Inspection was to verify continued compliance with
§1027.5 (c) Safety Checks of Sobering Cells, §1056 Use of Sobering Cell, §1260
Standard Institutional Clothing, and §1265 Issue of Personnel Care Items in Title 15 of
the California Code of Regulations (CCR), Minimum Standards for Local Detentions
Facilities.
We identified no items of noncompliance with Title 15 Minimum Standards.
No items of noncompliance were identified with Title 24 Minimum Standards.
An Exit Briefing with your staff was held on Thursday, July 25, 2024; BSCC staff
presented an inspection overview and discussed technical assistance and best practice
recommendations.
