May 16, 2023 Dean Growdon, Sheriff Lassen County Sheriff's Department 1405 Sheriff Cady Lane Susanville, CA 96130 2023 UNANNOUNCED INSPECTION, PENAL CODE 6031, LASSEN COUNTY ADULT DETENTION FACILITY, TYPE II Dear Sheriff Growdon: Pursuant to Penal Code section 6031(b), on May 4, 2023, the Board of State and Community Corrections (BSCC) staff conducted an unannounced inspection of the Lassen County Adult Detention Facility. The focus of the unannounced inspection was to verify continued compliance with 1263 Clothing Supply (initial clothing issue during the intake process), 1265 Issue of Personnel Care Items, and 1272 Mattresses of Title 15 of the California Code of Regulations (CCR), Minimum Standards for Local Detentions Facilities. BSCC INSPECTION Title 15, CCR Minimum Standards The inspection consisted of a site visit, a walkthrough of the intake process, interviews with administration staff, the inspection of mattress conditions, the condition of clothing issued, personal care items, and feminine hygiene products. During the onsite inspection, we found no items of noncompliance with the Title 15 of the California Code of Regulations (CCR), Minimum Standards for Local Detentions Facilities sections we inspected.
