Current Items of Noncompliance
Title 15. Section Description
After a review of Safety Check logs, BSCC staff
found that a significant number of Safety Check
logs exceeded the 60-minute lapse between
§ 1027.5 Safety Checks
safety checks. BSCC staff determined a finding of
non-compliance with this regulation.
During the on-site inspection and subsequent
§ 1032. Fire Suppression Preplanning
review of requested documentation, BSCC
determined non-compliance due to the lack of
monthly fire inspections conducted within the
facility.
During the review of provided documentation and
§ 1065. Exercise and Recreation on-site inspection, BSCC staff determined non-
compliance due to inmates not being provided the
minimum requirement of seven (7) hours of
recreation time spread out over a seven day
period.
During the onsite inspection, BSCC staff
observed the following;
§ 1280. Facility Sanitation, Safety, and
- Rodent dropping in cells
Maintenance - Broken toilets with moldy towels on the ground
- Unusable cells due to broken toilets
- Occupied cells with gates that are unable to be
secured.

Technical Assistance Provided
Upon the determination that the lapsed security checks were due to technical malfunctions ( loss of
internet connectivity, delay in download of data, malfunctioning scanning devices) BSCC staff
recommends a thorough supervisory review of all security logs and documentation of the review
noted in eUDAL.

The remainder of outstanding documentation was reviewed after the debrief. The CAP due date
reflects 30 days from LASD’s receipt of the Initial Inspection Report
