Pogue, Sheriff Madera County Sheriff’s Office 2725 Falcon Drive Madera, CA 93637 2024 UNANNOUNCED INSPECTION, PENAL CODE SECTION 6031, WELFARE & INSTITUTIONS CODE SECTION 209, MADERA COUNTY JAIL Dear Sheriff Pogue: Pursuant to Penal Code section 6031 (b), on February 1, 2024, Board of State and Community Corrections (BSCC) staff conducted an unannounced inspection of the Madera County Jail. The focus of the unannounced inspection was to review the staffing plan, suicide prevention program, and death in custody review. INSPECTION RESULTS Title 15, CCR Minimum Standards The inspection consisted of a site visit, interviews with administration staff and facility staff, observations, and a review of Title 15 § 1027 Number of Personnel, § 1030 Suicide Prevention Plan, and § 1046 Death in Custody. BSCC staff reviewed the watchlist for the shift on duty regarding §1027 Number of Personnel and determined the agency is compliant with this regulation. BSCC staff reviewed policy and spoke to administrative staff regarding §1030 Suicide Prevention Plan and determined the agency is compliant with this regulation. BSCC staff reviewed policy and interviewed administrative staff regarding §1046 Death in Custody and determined the agency is compliant with this regulation. * * * Thank you for your staff’s time for the inspection.
