Pogue, Sheriff Madera County Sheriff's Office 2725 Falcon Drive Madera, CA 93637 2025-2026 UNANNOUNCED INSPECTION, PENAL CODE SECTION 6031, WELFARE & INSTITUTIONS CODE SECTION 209, MADERA COUNTY SHERIFF DETENTION FACILITY Dear Sheriff Pogue: An Unannounced Inspection of the Madera County Sheriff's Office was completed for the following facility on Tuesday, January 14, 2025: FACILITY NAME BSCC # FACILITY TYPE Madera County Jail 2985 II This inspection was conducted pursuant to Penal Code Section 6031 to determine compliance with the Minimum Standards for Local Detention Facilities as outlined in Titles 15 and 24, California Code of Regulations. INSPECTION RESULTS The focus of the Unannounced Inspection was to evaluate the below sections of Title 15: • 1027 – Number of Personnel: BSCC staff reviewed the facility’s current staffing level and determined the o agency is compliant with the regulation. • 1027.5 – Safety Checks: BSCC staff reviewed the safety check for Module A on January 14, 2025, o and determined the agency is compliant with the regulation. • 1030 – Suicide Prevention Program: (a) Annual suicide prevention training for all custodial personnel. o  The agency stated it completed its facility's annual suicide prevention training in December of 2024. BSCC staff determined the facility was compliant with this regulation. • 1056 – Use of Sobering Cell: BSCC staff observed one person in a sobering during this inspection. o BSCC staff reviewed the associated safety check log and determined the facility is compliant with this regulation. Pogue Sheriff Page 2 • 1280 – Facility Sanitation, Safety, and Maintenance: BSCC staff found the facility clean and in good order. o We identified no items of noncompliance with Title 15 Minimum Standards.
