Dear Sheriff Pogue:
An unannounced inspection of the Madera County Sheriff’s Office was conducted on
Wednesday, November 19, 2025.

This inspection was conducted pursuant to Penal Code Section 6031 to determine
compliance with the Minimum Standards for Local Detention Facilities as outlined in Titles
15 and 24, California Code of Regulations.
INSPECTION RESULTS
The focus of this inspection was areas previously identified as corrected noncompliances
of:
• §1055 Use of Safety Cells
• §1056 Use of Sobering Cells
• §1065 Exercise and Out of Cell Time
Upon review of the requested documents, Board of State and Community Correction
(BSCC) staff identified no items of noncompliance with Title 15 and the sections listed
above.
