January 15, 2025 Jeremy Briese, Sheriff-Coroner Mariposa County Sheriff's Office 5099 Old Highway "N" Mariposa, CA 95338 2023-2024 UNANNOUNCED INSPECTION, PENAL CODE SECTION 6031, WELFARE & INSTITUTIONS CODE SECTION 209, MARIPOSA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE ADULT DETENTION FACILITY Dear Sheriff Briese: An Unannounced Inspection of the Mariposa County Sheriff's Office was completed for the following facility on December 26, 2024: FACILITY NAME BSCC # FACILITY TYPE Adult Detention Facility 3090 II This inspection was conducted pursuant to Penal Code Section 6031 to determine compliance with the Minimum Standards for Local Detention Facilities as outlined in Titles 15 and 24, California Code of Regulations. INSPECTION RESULTS The focus of the Unannounced Inspection was to evaluate continued compliance with Title 15 Section 1056 Use of Sobering Cell. The inspection consisted of documentation review of sobering cell placements from within the last three months. Agency supervision provided placement notes and safety check observation logs for two placements within the requested time frame. Placement notes were sufficient and safety checks were performed no less than 30 minutes from the previous safety check for compliance this the regulation. We identified no items of noncompliance with Title 15 Minimum Standards.
