A pre- inspection briefing was held on Thursday, June 27, 2024, and the following facility was inspected on Thursday, August 29, 2024: FACILITY NAME BSCC # FACILITY TYPE Mariposa Co. Adult Detention Facility 3090 II This inspection was conducted pursuant to Penal Code Section 6031 to determine compliance with the Minimum Standards for Local Detention Facilities as outlined in Titles 15 and 24, California Code of Regulations. INSPECTION RESULTS We identified the following items of noncompliance with Title 15 Minimum Standards. Title 15 Section 1027.5, Safety Checks, Subsection (f): Supervisors conduct regular reviews of safety checks; however, they do not have a method to document their review to include methods of mitigating patterns of inconsistent documentation or untimely completion of safety checks. Title 15 Section 1046, Death in Custody Subsection (a): The agency policy did not state a copy of the report would be submitted to the BSCC within 10 days of an in-custody death. *Staff corrected this item of noncompliance onsite. BSCC did not find the agency noncompliant but provided technical assistance and best practices for future Sobering Cell placements and will conduct a follow-up inspection to determine continued compliance at a later date.
