A pre-inspection briefing was held on Thursday, June 6, 2024, and the following facility was inspected on August 13, 2024. Warner dorm was not inspected due to being unoccupied for a remodel project. FACILITY NAME BSCC # FACILITY TYPE Modoc County Jail 3220 II This inspection was conducted pursuant to Penal Code Section 6031 to determine compliance with the Minimum Standards for Local Detention Facilities as outlined in Titles 15 and 24, California Code of Regulations. INSPECTION RESULTS We identified no items of noncompliance with Title 15 Minimum Standards. Refer to the attached Procedures Checklist for detailed information. Three items of noncompliance were identified with Title 24 Minimum Standards. § 1231.2.4 Sobering cell During the onsite inspection, BSCC staff determined the washbasin and drinking fountain are noncompliant due to not having running water. Facility staff provides water to people placed in the sobering cell. § 1231.2.5 Safety cell During the Targeted Inspection, BSCC staff determined the safety cell is noncompliant due to the toilet being nonoperational. Staff use a bucket of water to flush the toilet when needed.
