The following facility was inspected on Tuesday, August 15, 2023: FACILITY NAME BSCC # FACILITY TYPE Buena Park PD Jail 3612 I This inspection was conducted pursuant to Penal Code Section 6031 to determine compliance with the Minimum Standards for Local Detention Facilities as outlined in Titles 15 and 24, California Code of Regulations. In addition, Board of State and Community Corrections (BSCC) staff conducted compliance monitoring pursuant to Welfare and Institutions Code Section 209(f) and the federal Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act (JJDPA). The facility is classified as a Type I facility; however, people are detained less than six (6) hours. We are inspecting this facility as a Temporary Holding Facility as in past years. In addition to inspection(s) by the BSCC, inspections are also required annually by the County Health Officer and biennially by the State Fire Marshal or an authorized representative (Health and Safety Code Sections 101045 and 13146.1). The results of those inspections are considered a part of this report. There are no female staff available at the facility; when a female prisoner, is detained male staff is responsible for their supervision.
