Goodlett Place San Francisco, CA 94102 2025-2026 UNANNOUNCED INSPECTION, PENAL CODE SECTION 6031, WELFARE & INSTITUTIONS CODE SECTION 209, SAN FRANCISCO COUNTY DETENTION FACILITY Dear Sheriff Miyamoto: An Unannounced Inspection of the San Francisco County Sheriff's Office was completed for the following facility on Monday, July 8, 2025: FACILITY NAME BSCC # FACILITY TYPE County Jail #2 4630 II This inspection was conducted pursuant to Penal Code Section 6031 to determine compliance with the Minimum Standards for Local Detention Facilities as outlined in Titles 15 and 24, California Code of Regulations. INSPECTION RESULTS The focus of the Unannounced Inspection was to evaluate daily housing unit operations within the County Jail #2 Facility. 1065: Exercise and Out of Cell Time: BSCC staff was on the housing unit while exercise and out of cell time were being conducted. BSCC staff was walked through the process by facility staff on how each person out of their cell at the time was identified and marked on either exercise or out of cell time. Based upon the review, compliance is achieved. 1211: Sick Call: The regulation requires policies and procedures which provide daily sick call for all incarcerated persons or provision made that any incarcerated person requesting medical/mental health attention be given such attention. BSCC staff witnessed a nurse respond to the housing unit and conduct a medical evaluation to an individual requesting medical attention as requested through daily sick call. These actions are compliant with the regulations. Paul Miyamoto Sheriff Page 2 1267: Hair Care Services: As a part of the regulation, incarcerated people shall be allowed to shave daily and receive hair care services at least once a month. While on the housing unit, BSCC staff inspected the shaving equipment and reviewed documentation identifying those individuals who had been issued hair care equipment. After speaking with incarcerated persons and reviewing documentation, compliance is achieved.
