October 28, 2022 Jeremiah LaRue, Sheriff Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office 305 Butte Street Yreka, CA 96097 2020-2022 UNANNOUNCED INSPECTION OF SISKIYOU COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE JAIL AND COURT HOLDING FACILITIES, PENAL CODE 6031 Dear Sheriff LaRue: On October 4, 2022, the Board of State and Community Corrections (BSCC) staff conducted an unannounced inspection of the Siskiyou County Jail and Siskiyou County Court Holding. This inspection was conducted in conjunction with a Technical Assistance visit of the new court holding that opened during the 2020/2022 cycle. Pursuant to Penal Code Section 6031, this inspection was performed to determine compliance with the Minimum Standards for Local Detention Facilities as outlined in Titles 15, California Code of Regulations (CCR). Our unannounced inspection was limited to an onsite walk-through of the facility and speaking with facility staff. Please note that we will return to complete a comprehensive annual inspection prior to December 31, 2023, for the new cycle. BSCC INSPECTION Title 15 and Title 24, CCR Unannounced Inspection: The unannounced inspection consisted of an onsite walk through of the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Jail and Court Holding Facility. We found no items of noncompliance with Title 15 or Title 24. The facilities appeared to be clean and well maintained. This concludes our unannounced inspection of the Siskiyou County Jail and Siskiyou County Court Holding Facilities.
