Current Items of Noncompliance
Title 15. Section Description
The facility administrator shall develop written policies and
procedures for the maintenance of an acceptable level of
cleanliness, repair and safety throughout the facility. Such a plan
shall provide for a regular schedule of housekeeping tasks and
§ 1280. Facility Sanitation, Safety, and inspections to identify and correct unsanitary or unsafe
conditions or work practices which may be found.
Maintenance
The facility was clean and in good order. There are missing tiles
on the shower floor of Y Pod. There is damage to the padding
in the Safety Cell. Finally, the second-tier shower in B pod does
not work.
Title 24. Section Description
In accordance with the 1991 Title 24, there shall be 1
shower available to every 20 persons.
1231.3.4 Showers
In B pod, the one shower is inoperative. So, the ratio
is current 1 shower for 24 beds.
Technical Assistance Provided
BSCC staff provided source information for repair kits for padding in sobering and safety cells.
Additionally, provided sample forms to improve documentation.

Additional Information
Discussed means of limiting ligature points in double cells.
The facility is overdue for the annual Nutrition Inspection because the county no longer has a
nutritionist on staff at the County Health Department. To be in compliance with Health and Safety
Code (HSC) § 101045, we discussed possible options for the annual inspection.
