A pre- inspection briefing was held on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, and the following facility was inspected on/between Wednesday, August 21, 2024 and Friday, August 23, 2024: FACILITY NAME BSCC # FACILITY TYPE Siskiyou County Jail 5461 II This inspection was conducted pursuant to Penal Code Section 6031 to determine compliance with the Minimum Standards for Local Detention Facilities as outlined in Titles 15 and 24, California Code of Regulations. INSPECTION RESULTS We identified the following items of noncompliance with Title 15 Minimum Standards. Title 15 § 1065 Exercise and Out of Cell Time (1) an opportunity for three hours of exercise and, (2) an opportunity for seven hours of recreation. The facility administrator has written policy for the required 10 hours of out of cell time, but the current documentation of the time spent out of the cells does not consistently reflect or record the requirement. Therefore, records of exercise and recreation could not be used to verify compliance with this section. Refer to the Physical Plant Evaluation and Living Area Space Evaluation attachments for information related to Rated Capacity and Title 24 compliance.
