CENTER FACILITY
Dear Sheriff Lopez:
An Unannounced Inspection of the Yolo County Sheriff's Office was completed for the
following facility on Monday, February 24, 2025:

This inspection was conducted pursuant to Penal Code Section 6031 to determine
compliance with the Minimum Standards for Local Detention Facilities as outlined in Titles
15 and 24, California Code of Regulations.
INSPECTION RESULTS
The focus of the Unannounced Inspection was to evaluate continued compliance with the
following Title 15 of the California Code of Regulations (CCR), Minimum Standards for
Local Detention Facilities:
- §1063 Correspondence; subsection (e),
- §1260 Standard Institutional Clothing,
- §1265 Issue of Personnel Care Items, and
- §1280 Facility Sanitation, Safety, and Maintenance
The Unannounced Inspection consisted of a site visit, interviews with administration staff,
walkthroughs of the intake area, an inspection of the correspondence package for all
incarcerated persons as well as for incarcerated persons without funds, and an inspection
of the clothing provided during the intake process to ensure they are clean and free from
holes and tears. Board of State and Community Corrections (BSCC) staff also inspected
personal care items that are initially provided during the intake process, including a
toothbrush, dentifrice, soap, and a comb, in addition to sanitary napkins, panty liners, and
tampons for each menstruating person. During the inspection, it was noted that all areas
of the facility were in sanitary condition. Hand sanitizing stations are located in
workstations and pumps are affixed to the walls in every area.

BSCC staff found no items of noncompliance with Title 15 Minimum Standards.
An Exit Briefing with your staff was also held on Monday, February 24, 2025; BSCC staff
presented an inspection overview and discussed technical assistance and best practice
recommendations.
