March 14, 2023 Wendell Anderson, Sheriff-Coroner Yuba County Sheriff's Office 720 Yuba Street Marysville, CA 95901 2023 UNANNOUNCED INSPECTION, PENAL CODE 6031, YUBA COUNTY JAIL, TYPE II JAIL FACILITY Dear Sheriff Anderson: Pursuant to Penal Code section 6031 (b), on 3/08/2023, Board of State and Community Corrections (BSCC) staff conducted an unannounced inspection of the Yuba County Jail. The focus of the unannounced inspection was to verify continued compliance with section 1027.5 of Title 15 of the California Code of Regulations (CCR), Minimum Standards for Local Detentions Facilities, Safety Checks. BSCC INSPECTION Title 15, CCR Minimum Standards The inspection consisted of a site visit, interviews with administration staff, facility staff, review of the visitation lobby, safety cells, clothing, mattresses, and personal hygiene items distributed in the facility. During the unannounced inspection, we found no items of noncompliance. The facility was clean and the safety cells were not in use at the time of the unannounced inspection. The institutional clothing and mattresses were found to be in good condition and free of holes, tears, and stains. Corrective Action Plan There were no items of noncompliance identified during the unannounced inspection, and no Corrective Action Plan is required at this time. --- I am available to provide technical assistance when requested.
