The other youth indicated staff didn’t stop the fight and only waited for a response from other staff before they intervened. BSCC discussed staff response to use-of-force incidents with the administration. The agency’s policy is to verbally de-escalate, safely secure noninvolved youth, and wait for additional staff before intervening unless the incident between the combatants escalates to injury. The agency is in compliance with this regulation.
