Goodlett Place, Room 456 San Francisco, CA 94102 2020-2022 TARGETED INSPECTION OF SAN FRANCISCO COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT DETENTION FACILITIES, PENAL CODE 6031 Dear Sheriff Miyamoto: On May 4, 2021, BSCC staff conducted an onsite 2020-2022 Targeted Inspection follow-up to determine compliance with the Minimum Standards for Local Detention Facilities as outlined in Titles 15 and 24, California Code of Regulations, and to verify your agency's Corrective Action Plan on correcting two noncompliance issues. BSCC staff also conducted an unannounced site visit for Jail #1 Intake Area and Jail #2 Module C to view the location of safety restraint chairs and verify the policy is in compliance with Title 15 Section 1058 Use of Restraint Devices. Your Corrective Action Plan dated February 28, 2021, explained how you addressed the out-of-date policy and forms for Title 15 section Use of Restraint Devices, and the lack of documentation for monthly fire life safety checks for Jail #2 per Title 15 section 1032 Fire Suppression Preplanning. Upon final review of documentation, BSCC staff determined you have corrected the two noncompliance issues. This concludes the 2020-2022 Targeted Inspection report.
